CBAM · for producers outside the EU

Your EU buyers now pay for the carbon in every tonne you ship.

If you can’t prove the number, they pay on default values, marked up 10% this year and 30% by 2028. Tonnemark turns your plant’s fuel, power and production records into verified emissions data your buyers can file.

The arithmetic your buyer is already doing

The supplier with real data is the cheaper supplier, at the same price per tonne.

For every tonne of CO₂e above the EU benchmark, your buyer surrenders one CBAM certificate. Without your plant data they must use the EU default value for your country, which is set high on purpose and then marked up again. Each year the free allowance that offsets the bill shrinks.

How it works

From meter readings to a buyer-ready number in four steps.

  1. 1

    Map the installation

Production processes, routes and the CN codes you sell. We do this with you during setup, usually in one call.

  2. 2

    Enter what you already measure

Gas and electricity invoices, meter readings, production logs, precursor data from your suppliers. Tonnemark applies the EU calculation method.

  3. 3

    Get verified

A readiness check that mirrors what an accredited verifier asks for on the first site visit, with an evidence pack to hand over.

  4. 4

    Share with buyers

One private link per buyer, scoped to the goods they buy. See when they open it. Revoke it whenever you like.

For your EU importers

Send a link, not a spreadsheet thread.

Your buyer opens one page with everything their CBAM declaration needs: installation and coordinates, production route, direct and indirect specific emissions per CN code, the verifier, and downloads that follow the structure of the EU communication template.

  • Scoped per buyer: they see only the goods they buy from you
  • View receipts, so you know the data arrived before the filing deadline
  • CSV and Excel downloads for their customs software

Questions producers ask

Before you book.

Our buyer handles CBAM. Why is this our problem?

Because your buyer pays for what you can’t prove. Without your installation data they must file default values, and a supplier who costs them more in certificates is a supplier they will replace or squeeze on price.

Does Tonnemark replace the verifier?

No. Actual emissions must be verified by an accredited verifier, and the first definitive-period report needs a site visit. Tonnemark prepares the data, calculations and evidence references the verifier will check, so the visit is short.

Which calculation method do you use?

The EU method for installations: emissions from fuels and process materials (calculation-based or mass balance), indirect emissions from electricity, attribution to production processes, and precursors carried through to the final good.

What do we need to have ready?

Annual fuel and material quantities with invoices or meter readings, electricity consumption, production tonnage per process, and the CN codes you export. If you buy precursors such as billets or clinker, we help you request data from those suppliers.

Who can see our plant data?

Only your team. Buyers see a statement only through a private link you create for them, limited to the goods you choose, and you can revoke it at any time.

We export to the UK as well.

The UK CBAM starts on 1 January 2027 and covers similar sectors. Tonnemark records your data per installation and period, so the same verified figures serve both.
